Support at Home will have 8 classifications for ongoing services, replacing the 4 Home Care Package levels. Each classification will have a budget for participants to access services.

Funded by the Australian Government, the Support at Home Program is a great way to access in-home care.
Support at Home offers access to services, products, equipment and home modifications so that you can remain independent, connected to your community and living at home for longer.
At Alpha Support at Home, you are supported by a team that is passionate about your health and wellbeing. We offer a broad range of services such as wound care, physiotherapy and respite care. We understand you have unique goals and needs - we offer personalised, quality services which support you to live life on your terms.
To maximise the potential of your Home Care Package, a care coordinator will work with you to understand and develop an array of support and services specifically designed to meet your unique requirements.
The Support at Home program offers an extensive list of services, grouped into three categories as shown below.
Includes a range of nursing care from registered nurses, enrolled nurses and nursing assistants.
Prescribed supplementary dietary products and aids for conditions related to functional decline or impairment.
Includes services that contribute to the overall wellbeing of an older person (e.g., care planning; service coordination etc).
Includes a range of allied health and therapeutic services such as physiotherapy and occupational therapy.
Includes specialist coordination services for older people undergoing the time limited Restorative Care Pathway.
Includes assistance with self-care activities of daily living, self-administration of medication and continence management.
Includes access to group social support, accompanied activities and outings, cultural support and assistance with personal affairs.
Includes services such as acupuncture, art therapy, chiropractor and remedial massage.
As per the Assistive Technology and Home Modifications list, including wraparound services, maintenance, and repair.
Includes flexible respite and community and centre-based respite care.
Includes direct (driver and car provided) and indirect (taxi or rideshare) transport.
Includes house cleaning, laundry services and shopping assistance.
Includes services such as gardening.
Includes meal preparation and delivery.
Focused on helping older people regain strength and independence through allied health services. Support is available for up to 16 weeks, based on assessment.
Provides additional in-home support during the last three months of life, aiming to help people remain at home for as long as possible. Funding of up to $25,000 will be available, with 16 weeks to use the funds.
To provide upfront access to equipment, products and home modifications to support older people to safely and independently live in their own home. This funding is in addition to and separate from the ongoing Support at Home funding classifications.

Provided you are over the age of 65 (or 50, if an Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander person) or a person over the age of 50 at risk of, or experiencing, homelessness, you can undertake an assessment of your needs via the Single Assessment System. This will establish the types of care and services you may be eligible for and your priority level for receiving services.
If you are found eligible, the assessor will work with you to develop an individual support plan, providing the basis for you to understand your funding and the services you can receive.
You will receive a notice of decision with your support plan to share with your Support at Home provider. This will include the funding budget you have been approved for and a summary of your care needs and goals.
Once you know you’ve been approved for funding, you can choose your provider. Providers are registered according to the services they provide, so you can make sure you choose one that provides the services you need. You will need to sign a Service Agreement with your chosen provider.
Once your funding becomes available, you’ll be assigned your budget and can begin receiving your services.

Private home care is a flexible fee-for-service option that offers you immediate access to support. Unlike government-funded Home Care Packages, private care eliminates the need for government assessments, evaluations, and subsidies. It provides a hassle-free way for you to access the support necessary for independent living. Additionally, private care can complement the care hours you receive through your Home Care Package if they do not fully meet your unique needs.
