The new Aged Care Act reforms started on 1 November 2025 and respond to issues facing older people, aged care providers, workers and the broader sector. The reforms put the rights of older people at the centre of the aged care system.

DOWNLOADThe Aged Rights Advocacy Service (ARAS) offers a free, confidential and state-wide service to older people, or their representatives, who are:
- living in residential aged care or a retirement village
- receiving or seeking to receive Support at Home funding and services
- at risk of, or experiencing abuse from family or friends
